Thanks Rhonda for you comments. Christians are an eclectic group. What may be a line for one is not necessarily the same for another. Yes, there are clear "yes" and "no" situations, but most of our life is lived in the great gray area where we must find a way to communicate without crossing a clear "no" in Scripture. Paul covers kinds of choices in 1 Corinthians 8-9.

I agree with John, I stumbled on him via You Tube in with the other Christian Comedians--like Jeff Allen and at first it was really funny, then I started seeing a side that was very sharp and sarcastic about worship that I really wasn't comfortable with. It is like you are watching something, but its just "not right" and your kinda looking around to see if anyone else is picking up on that. There is a "line" that I notice Ken Davis, Mark Lowery ect will not cross--because they are comedians doing a job with the GOAL being to point to Christ at the end of their shtick. I am really not seeing this with Tim, I am not seeing a guy sold out to Christ with an end message that wraps up the reason of him being there is to show people who Christ is. I see a guy who is using the church to make money and because we as Believer's want to be "entertained" this guy is flying right under the radar of most people. Just my opinion after watching an hour of his work, perhaps I missed the love of his message and it is there, but I just didn't see it ..............

Tim Hawkins is riding a wave of using Christianity to sell product. He has an audience, churches use him, then he gets gigs in public and halls and auditoriums as well. He lampoons all the things we hold sacred, I mean how sweet, intimate and personal is "Jesus Take the Wheel"? This guy takes it and makes a spoof out of it, Cletus take the reel....? I think this guy has a place, but not in my collection of dvd's and not coming to my church. God is tolerant, and forgiving but I cannot believe God has winked at this guy's attitude and conduct. Some things are just to serious to be poked fun at. I like a good laugh myself and like to share a clean joke now and then. However, there are boundaries and I believe, my opinion and I am entitled to it, this guy is not right and what he is doing borderlines blasphemy.

Eli,

Everyone has a right to their own opinion. Comedy has different flavors. I think he has a message in his presentation. Worship is not just the music we sing but a way of life. Often making fun of ourselves is a sign of deep respect.

Hi Winn,

I'm 29 years old and this guy just seems like he is making a mockery of something beautiful. It seems that worship should be kept Holy and never laughed about. Maybe I'm acting like my Grandma, but it just feels wrong.

Thnks for hearing me
